You've cooked a lovely family meal. What to do with the left-overs?
Food wastage is a huge problem for any family. We cook a delicious meal, but the left-overs languish in our fridges or freezers until it is too late. We end up spending much more than we should on food, and place unnecessary pressure on global food resources.
Wouldn't it be great to cook a glorious family meal on a Saturday or Sunday, and then use the left-overs to make totally exciting but easy week-night creations? This is the idea behind Mothership Cooking!
In our Sunday Mothership Cooking classes you will see how the weekend family meal becomes exciting weeknight fare. We even give lunchbox options!
The classes are led by Masterchef finalist Ellie Paxton-Hall. Since Masterchef, Ellie has pursued her passion for making beautiful food by working in a range of food industry positions. She will show you how to transform, for example, a wonderful Mothership lamb roast into a weeknight biryani, borek pastries, and a lamb, feta and mint salad. Mothership pork becomes San choy bow, spicy pork burritos, and pulled pork sandwiches. The possibilities are limitless, and you will be inspired by Ellie's talent and enthusiasm for making more than the most out of beautiful produce.
The classes are a mixture of demonstration and hands-on cooking, with lots of tastings throughout and recipes to take away. They are on Sunday 19 & 26 February, 10.30 am-1 pm. $59 each.
