After a long winter the weather warms and we crave freshness and liveliness in our food. It's time to embrace the bounty of the spring and summer seasons in our cooking, and that's our quest in these Monday Masterclasses.  We're cooking colourful tapas, festive Mexican, summer Thai, spring Italian, Provincial French, fresh and healthyVietnamese. 

And then there is Christmas! How about mastering a Xmas seafood paella, christmas duck, and our tasteful take on turducken with some elegant turducken rolls. We've got baking classes too. Learn how to make savoury and dessert roulades (a great option for Christmas lunch!), and master DIY chocolate truffles.

The classes are Mondays 6.30-8.30 pm in the Foodish Cooking School at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets.

Each class is 2-5 pm. Cost $110, including wine, antipasto on arrival and either a very delicious early meal or, in the case of the fermenting workshop, lots of take-aways.

Drop your kids at Foodish these holidays for a creative and fun day of cooking, food craft and games!

Our day-long holiday programs are on Wednesday 3 October and Thursday 11 October, 9am-4.30pm. 

During each day the children:

  • visit the retailers at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets to buy key ingredients for their lunch
  • cook and eat a healthy and delicious lunch and afternoon tea
  • play fun food games
  • create wonderful edible goodies to take home

The classes are run by experienced educators and are well supervised. Foodish provides morning tea and the children make their own lunch and afternoon tea.  

Cost: $140 per day

Looking to inspire your child’s culinary creativity? Or need to unleash your mini chef in the kitchen without having to clean up the mess? 

This is a fun, hands-on series of classes aimed to inspire kids to cook and eat delicous food! Our students will learn about:

  • how to use fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • food from around the world
  • indispensible cooking skills
  • basic knife-skills
  • kitchen safety & hygiene
  • cleaning-up!!  A crucial skill both in the kitchen and in life!

Wednesdays, 24 October to 21 November (5 weeks) 3.45-5.30 pm. The last class is a 'restaurant' class where the children invite family and friends to their 'restaurant' to serve them a delicious dinner that they have cooked.

Classes take place in the Foodish Cooking School at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets.   The cost for the five-week series is $250.
